In New York there are what are called Prewar buildings. They're apartment walk-ups, with an interesting facade and fire escape out front. The idea of them in the late afternoon sun appealed to me. Also, I seemed to be visually attracted to people carrying flowers. I decided to join both ideas in this piece.
